Pattern Scoring and Selection
Each eligible pattern receives a weighted score based on industry, visual style, brand character, positioning, and business goals. A stored seed resolves close matches consistently.
A WordPress theme that turns a single intake form into a complete, editable site, assembled from 234 patterns scored against the business.
Little Extra is a native-first WordPress theme and site generation system I built to turn a structured business brief into a complete, editable website. Rather than starting each project from a blank page, the generator selects from 234 reusable patterns, builds the requested pages, creates navigation and service content, applies a suitable visual system, and fills each section with relevant copy, photography, and icons.
The result is assembled around the business instead of copied from a fixed template. A weighted selection engine evaluates patterns against the client’s industry, goals, positioning, brand character, and visual preferences. It then considers page rhythm and repetition before using a stored seed to make a reproducible selection. Separate resolvers match every content slot to tagged libraries containing thousands of copy options, images, and icons.
Most importantly, the finished site remains standard WordPress. Generated pages use ordinary blocks and native Global Styles, so clients can continue editing their content and design through familiar WordPress tools. The generator updates existing pages instead of creating duplicates, while WordPress revisions keep earlier versions recoverable.
This project brings content modeling, design systems, selection logic, and front-end engineering together in one tool that reduces repetitive production work without limiting what can be customized afterward.
Runs the theme’s blocks, extensions, and site generator, handling dynamic rendering, core block transformations, schema, navigation, pages, and revisions.
Runs the intake form, block controls, editor previews, navigation, filtering, animations, and front-end behavior through WordPress APIs without a build step.
Handles custom block controls, live editor previews, component state, and data access through WordPress’s native editor APIs.
Controls client-side behavior across five interactive blocks, keeps each instance isolated, and works with server-rendered WordPress markup without a separate bundle.
Provides the foundation through block templates, template parts, patterns, and Global Styles, keeping every generated site compatible with the native WordPress editor.
Stores tagged copy, image, icon, palette, and typography data that the generator can search, score, and match to each website.

Every page is created before composing content, allowing links, calls to action, and navigation to resolve against the complete site structure.
Copy selection accounts for role, section, business, industry, positioning, length, and neighboring content, allowing related text slots to stay coherent.
Image choices account for subject, shape, industry, and aesthetic. Icon choices combine business relevance with keyword overlap from the surrounding copy.
Generation works as an upsert, updating existing pages and navigation while leaving unselected content alone and retaining earlier layouts through revisions.
The cached pattern index is keyed to each file’s size and modification time, so it rebuilds only when a pattern changes.
